SofTrain
History
TraineeTracker was developed
by SofTrain Inc. Why did we choose SofTrain as our name? The answer
is simple: Software and Trains!
SofTrain began in 1980 as "R.H.Wieboldt & Associates," a small PC
consulting firm in Phoenix, Arizona. Dick Wieboldt and an associate
developed PC programs to assist small companies with business problems.
In 1984, Dick began working with another associate who was building
live steam train models. The result was a business named SofTrain. The
railroad side of the business never gained enough steam to take off,
but the software business continued to grow.
SofTrain has developed solutions to support a variety of client needs.
We have created applications ranging from simple programs and databases
to complex telephone/PC interactive query systems. Most members of our
staff have worked with multimedia and client/server networks since the
technology was introduced. The five officers of the company have combined
experience in computers and the data processing industry of more than
85 years. Two of SofTrain's officers have worked with PCs since the
mid 70's, when Apple announced its first machine.
In 1998, we added a new meaning to our name. SofTrain also stands for
Software Training!
Today and in the future, we
will focus on promoting global literacy. Our TraineeTracker product
is one of a new generation of tools that can be used to promote global
literacy by offering a low-cost training solution accessible by a worldwide
audience.
Our company is global and diverse. We are a cyber organization, with
officers and staff living in different parts of the country. We use
the Internet to hold meetings, complete projects, and communicate with
clients.
